Bill Boxer | Fine Art Photography
Close to Home - The Language of Observation
Bill Boxer is a fine-art photographer based in St. Augustine, Florida, whose work explores the extraordinary possibilities hidden within the familiar world around us. His ongoing project, Close to Home, began in 2020 and has evolved into a distinctive body of photographic art centered on observation, discovery, and interpretation.
Artistic Approach
Boxer’s photography begins with curiosity and a willingness to look beyond the obvious. Working with dewdrops, water reflections, botanical forms, tree bark, and garden wildlife, he explores the relationships among light, color, texture, form, and composition. His creative process extends from careful observation and photographic capture into the digital darkroom, where images are refined and interpreted to express a personal artistic vision. The resulting photographs range from intimate representations of nature to painterly compositions and abstractions that challenge immediate recognition. His work invites viewers to slow down, look longer, and discover something unexpected.
