This visit to New York City wasn’t just any trip. Laura and I returned to New York to mark our 60th wedding anniversary. It was a gathering of family and friends in the city where our life together began.
With some limited time wandering the streets, what emerged was an extension of the vision I explore in *Close to Home,* my current exhibition on view through June 5th in St. Augustine Florida. That work focuses on the beauty found close to home; leaves, bark, dew drops, and reflections in a stream.
*MY NY* shares the same values in an entirely different setting. Where *Close to Home* focuses on our garden and stream, this series focuses on daily life in a vibrant city. Reflections in bakery windows, raindrops on steel railings, and moments of pause amid the daily rush, I see a quieter New York.
This isn’t the New York of iconic landmarks. This is the one I see. This is *MY NY*.
