In a society where we often fixate on the grandiose, there is beauty to be discovered in the details of everyday life, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary through the eye of a camera. In this series of photos, CLOSE TO HOME, I explore the textures, patterns, colors and moments that define my immediate surroundings. Each image reflects what we often overlook or take for granted. They reveal details often missed in the rush of daily life. From dew drops, delicate flowers, beautiful magnolias in all their glory, a dragonfly's wings, garden wildlife, busy bees pollinating, geckos scurrying about and butterflies spreading their wings, we view a smaller world rich in simplicity. Look deep and you can even see the beauty of imperfection. "Seeing the world through the eye of the camera has always been a passion. It is my permanent record of how I see people, places and nature."
